Hello everyone, this section is all about my saltwater tank that I have had since about 2011. It is a Mixed Reef tank and has been though every issue (almost) that you can think of. about the only thing that this tank has not been on is being cooked by a heater being stuck on. Although I have had a heater die and the tank did get really cold. Not fun times.

In the coming weeks/months I will be posting quite a bit in here. I didn't name it "My Saltwater Tank" because I want all of you to post in here as well if you are in the hobby, thinking about getting into the hobby, or just have general questions about saltwater tanks.

Over on Rc-Help.com, when I stated I was going to get a new tank, the first thing that was posted put a submarine in it. That's a hard NO. Now that this is out of the way, this will be a fun journey into the next phase of this tank which will be started here in a month or so, maybe sooner, but not sure yet.

If you want to grab a pot of coffee and sit back and read what has went on with my 90 gallon tank that I have now, you can click the link below as it has everything in it. From Buying a used 110 gallon tall, to getting this 90, to building my own acrylic sump, it's all in that link below. You will need the 'pot' of coffee as that thread is 29 pages long as of this post.

Right now, I'm about to do somewhere in the neighborhood of a 12 gallon water change to finish off the last of the saltwater that I had in my barrel and start a new, fresh batch of salt water.

One thing that is in the plans is to make a Saltwater Mixing station. I will need higher pressure hose, a lot of valves and at least two barrels. I want to have one that will always stay topped off with freshwater (RO/DI water) and the other that has saltwater in it at all times. I will need a later pump so that I never have to drag a barrel across the house again, I will just use a plastic hose reel with some silicone tubing and pull out what I need, fill the tank, and roll it back up. And yes, it does have to be plastic because you cannot have any copper anywhere in the system as it will kill many things in a reef tank. Brass does have copper in it so cannot use those either. Stainless steel would be best, but some of the things are super expensive. This will be inside, so it should last as long as me.

Hope you all stay tuned as there is quite a large change coming sometime soon that I think y'all will enjoy.
